Welcome to our battery guide!
We often see people asking about batteries on forums:
- How long will this battery last?
- Which is best for my use-case (e.g. camping, sailing)?
Below is a short guide to help you identify the best battery size/type/model for your needs.
This is the first iteration, so if there is more/different information you want to see, or you have any other suggestions, let us know!

Few Notes on Portable Batteries
I. Traveling with your CPAP Battery
Security policies for traveling with your CPAP can differ by airline.
- ResMed has a list of policies for the most traveled airlines - link here.
- For airport security in the USA, review TSA's policy regarding CPAPs - link here.
II. Notes on Our Battery List
Below is a list of batteries grouped by their capacity, measured in Watt hours (Wh).
The below includes discharge time *estimates* based on expected average power draw (takes into account applicable DC conversion and battery degradation), so your mileage may vary, but these should be accurate enough to help you make a good decision for your goals, given the manufacturer'scs.
If you run at a consistently high pressure setting, then take these as particularly conservative measurements and give yourself more than ample power.
Finally, this is not an exhaustive list and we also have batteries in our Remedies & Accessories section. If there are batteries that you'd like us to cover, let us know via About and Contact!
Below is a guide on charge and discharge times for a few popular batteries, based on different CPAP setups/settings.
The batteries are divided into three groups:
- Multi-night full-size
- Single-night full-size
- Travel CPAP size
Each profile includes the capacity, but also the effective capacity taking into account system inefficiencies, degradation and power loss from DC conversion.
Any batteries we should add? Have you had different experiences with how long these take to charge or how long they power your CPAP on one charge?
